    Building Self-directed Learner Through Authentic Assessment

    This research investigates how authentic assessment that is set in the beginning of the lecture in the learning contract can build self-directed learner. This research uses a descriptive qualitative analysis by analyzing seven students’ tasks using authentic assessment, including the reflection of their experience, feeling and expression after one semester learning. The data are taken from the compilation of tasks that is submitted at the end of the semester. The results show that in each of the seven tasks build a self-directed learner. Though it was difficult at first, along the semester they are habituated to do the tasks and made them to be a self-directed learner. Based on these findings it is suggested that the task using authentic assessment set in the beginning of the lecture in order to make the students to be aware of learning in different ways

    Investigation of the anti-aging properties of allicin from Allium sativum L bulb extracts by a reverse docking approach

    Purpose: To analyze the potential of Allium sativum bulb extract in curing premature aging using reverse docking method.Methods: Ligand samples were retrieved from a PubChem database, allicin CID 65036,epigallocatechin gallate CID 65064, and pedunculagin CID 442688. To improve reliability, protein targets were predicted using three web services (PharmMapper, SuperPred and Swiss Target Prediction). Molecular docking was conducted to predict the interaction between Allium sativum bioactive as ligands and leukocyte elastase as protein target using PyRx 0.8 software. To be sure of the drug potential of the bioactive, DruLiTo software was used for the evaluation. Visualization and interaction analysis were performed by PyMol and Ligplus software.Results: The results showed that allicin has the highest potential as a candidate for premature-aging treatment, as evidenced by the highest binding affinity (-8.7 kcal/mol) to leukocyte elatase compared with epigallocatechin (-7.2 kcal/mol) and pedunculagin (-7.8 kcal/mol). Allicin acted as a leukocyte elatase inhibitor, with its binding stability facilitated by hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic interactions.Conclusion: Allicin has a potential as a leukocyte elastase inhibitor based on its binding affinity and intermolecular interactions.     Penerapan Model Problem Solving dalam Penelitian Tindakan Kelas Berbasis Lesson Study untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Memecahkan Masalah Materi Sistem Ekskresi , Osmoregulasi dan Sirkulasi

    Keterampilan memecahkan masalah merupakan kecakapan yang memuat beberapa indikator diantaranya: a) defining the problem, b) developing a plan to solve the problem, c) collecting and analyzing information, dan d) interpreting findings and solving the problems. Penerapan model problem solving dengan sintaksnya yang terdiri dari kegiatan mendefinisikan masalah, mendiagnosa masalah, merumuskan alternatif, dan menerapkan strategi pemecahan masalah diharapkan mempu memfasilitasi keterampilan memecahkan masalah pada peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan memecahkan masalah pada mahasiswa setelah diterapkan model problem solving. Subjek dalam penelitian ini yaitu mahasiswa angkatan 2016 Off B Jurusan Biologi UM yang menempuh mata kuliah fisiologi hewan dan berjumlah 32 orang. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) berbasis lesson study dengan 2 siklus. Masing-masing siklus terdiri dari 4 tahap yaitu, perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi, dan refleksi. Instrumen penelitian berupa lembar observasi dan tes. Tes siklus I dan siklus II berbentuk soal essay sebanyak 4 soal. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada indikator defining the problem dan developing a plan to solve the problem mengalami penurunan dari siklus I ke II, sedangkan indikator collecting and analyzing information dan interpreting findings and solving the problems mengalami peningkatan.     PENERAPAN MODEL INKUIRI TERBIMBING BERBASIS LESSON STUDY TERHADAP PEMAHAMAN KONSEP DAN KETERAMPILAN KOMUNIKASI MAHASISWA PADA MATAKULIAH FISIOLOGI HEWAN DAN MANUSIA UNIVERSITAS NEGERI MALANG: IMPLEMENTATION OF INQUIRY MODEL BASED ON LESSON STUDY ON THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE CONCEPT AND SKILLS OF STUDENTS COMMUNICATION IN THE PHYSIOLOGY OF ANIMAL AND HUMAN UNIVERSITAS NEGERI MALANG

    Introduction The purpose of education is directed in accordance with developments in technology, information, and communication. Students are expected to have skills and skills. Understanding concept is the basis for achieving various 21st century. The results of observations indicate understanding of student’s concepts and communications skills is low. The right solution to solve this problem is the application of guided inquiry based on Lesson Study (LS).Method Classroom action research method using a qualitative descriptive approarch based on lesson study in the form of plan, do, see stages.Results The results showed that the implementation of inquiry learning syntax in the first cycle was 98% and increased in the second cycle to 100%. The application of inquiry can increase student’s understanding of concepts by a percentage of 71,75 in the first cycle and increased to 81,3 in the second cycle. Communication skills with a classical average of 81,2 in the first cycle and increased to 84,95 in the second cycle.Conclusions and Recomendations Criteria for the implementation of the inquiry model and lesson study are very accomplished and can improve student’s understanding of concepts and communications skills.Keywords inquiry learning, understanding of concept, communication skills, Lesson Study (LS) ABSTRAK Pendahuluan Tujuan pendidikan diarahkan sesuai dengan perkembangan teknologi, informasi, dan komunikasi. Mahasiswa diharapkan memiliki kecakapan dan keterampilan. Pemahaman konsep merupakan dasar untuk mencapai berbagai keterampilan abad 21. Keterampilan komunikasi merupakan salah satu kecakapan yang harus dimiliki di abad 21. Hasil observasi menunjukkan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan komunikasi mahasiswa masih rendah. Solusi yang tepat untuk menyelesaikan masalah ini adalah penerapan Inkuiri Terbimbing berbasis Lesson Study (LS). Metode Penelitian tindakan kelas dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif berbasis lesson study berupa tahapan plan, do, see. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterlaksanaan sintaks pembelajaran inkuiri pada siklus I sebesar 98% dan meningkat pada siklus II menjadi 100%. Penerapan inkuiri dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep mahasiswa dengan persentase 71,75 pada siklus I dan meningkat menjadi 81,3 pada siklus II. Keterampilan komunikasi dengan rata-rata klasikal sebesar 81,2 pada siklus I dan meningkat menjadi 84.95 pada siklus II. Kesimpulan dan Saran Kriteria keterlaksanaan model inkuiri dan lesson study sangat terlaksana serta dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan keterampilan komunikasi mahasiswa.     Peningkatan Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Mahasiswa Melalui Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Learning Cycle 7e Berbasis Lesson Study

    Learning aimed to help students undergo the learning process so that effective learning behavior was realized. Effective learning was learning that can produced useful learning and student centered learning. In reality, students in class were still passive, have not been able to expressed their opinion, and were less active in constructing their own knowledge. This showed that learning objectives have not been achieved according to the sixth level of KKNI’s standard. Therefore, this study was conducted using a learning cycle 7E learning model based on lesson study to improve student’s critical thinking skills. The result showed that there had been an increase in student’s critical thinking skills during learning with four lesson study. The improvement of critical thinking skills on the interpretation indicator was 0.03%, inference was 0.03%, analysis was 0.06%, evaluation was 0.28%, explanations were 0.66%, and self-regulation was 0.91%

    Feasibility Analysis of Beverages Herbal Products of The Medicinal Plant as a Material Community Empowerment

    Herbal beverages produced, sold, and consumed by the public as a secondary requirement. Results of a preliminary study on home-made herbal medicine industry showed microbial contaminants on the threshold based on the Indonesian National Standard. This indicates that the knowledge society in the processing of herbal medicine is still low. The purpose of this study: 1) determine the feasibility of herbal beverages made public based on total plate count molds, 2) determine antibacterial of various herbal beverages, 3) determine the effectiveness of dissemination to the public. Laboratory experimental research methods.     Textbooks are learning guide books used by students in order to help achieve the goals of national education. Development of textbooks is one of the ways in which to facilitate the achievement of learning indicators. Development of Cell Biology textbooks by using bioinformatics approaches Dick and Carey development model. Textbooks developed validated by subject matter experts, instructional media experts, individual testing 15 students, and 15 students were group trial. Validation results matter experts declared feasible by 84% in good categories. The results of the validation study media experts declared feasible by 82.4% in good categories. Buku ajar merupakan buku panduan pembelajaran yang digunakan oleh siswa guna membantu mencapai tujuan pendidikan nasional. Pengembangan buku ajar merupakan salah satu cara yang dilakukan untuk memfasilitasi tercapainya indikator pembelajaran. Pengembangan buku ajar Biologi Sel dengan pendekatan Bioinformatika menggunakan model pengembangan Dick and Carey. Buku ajar yang dikembangkan divalidasi oleh ahli materi, ahli media pembelajaran, 15 mahasiswa uji coba perorangan, dan 15 mahasiswa uji coba kelompok sedang. Hasil validasi ahli materi menyatakan layak sebesar 84% dengan kategori baik. Hasil validasi ahli media pembelajaran menyatakan layak sebesar 82,4% dengan kategori baik

    Media IPA dibutuhkan untuk menunjang proses pembelajaran IPA yang sesuai hakikatnya, tetapi banyak sekolah terutama di sekolah dasar memiliki media IPA yang terbatas jumlahnya. Mahasiswa Pendidikan Guru Sekolah Dasar (PGSD) sebagai calon guru memerlukan keterampilan dalam mengembangkan media inovatif IPA untuk mempersiapkan mereka menghadapi ketersediaan media IPA yang terbatas ketika menjadi guru. Tujuan penelitian adalah meningkatkan kreativitas mahasiswa PGSD mengembangkan media inovatif IPA melalui implementasi strategi inkuiri yang dipandu kegiatan Lesson Study (LS). Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan dalam bentuk LS yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga siklus. Subyek penelitian adalah  79 mahasiswa yang memprogramkan mata kuliah pembelajaran IPA pada Program Studi PGSD Universitas Mataram tahun akademik 2016/2017. Data dikumpulkan melalui pengamatan kreativitas mahasiswa mengembangkan media inovatif IPA dan tes. Analisis data dilakukan dengan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan bahwa melalui implementasi strategi inkuiri yang dipandu LS terjadi peningkatan kreativitas mahasiswa dalam pengembangan media inovatif IPA dan rata-rata skor kreativitas mahasiswa pada akhir pembelajaran adalah berkategori sangat baik. Kata kiunci: pembelajaran inkuiri, lesson study, media inovatif , kreativitas, sekolah dasa
